Visual Inspirations

These photos were very inspirational photo's from Quadrophenia, a popular film which shows the fashion trends and the lifestyle of the mods which our band incorporates. During the 1960s there was the massive change with the 'youth culture' which paved the way for all the sub cultures that stand today. We had to use the fashion of the mods to appeal to our target audience.

The person on the far right of this photo wearing the bucket hat is Manny from The Stone Roses which are a similar band with their British mod style which is different to the mod style of the 1960s and we thought to incorporate old and modern.

This was very inspirational and we asked Callum to watch the Blur 'Parklife' video for inspiration and so we could get him in to the role as the main singer. We wanted to base him on the lead singer of Blur in this video and this screenshot inspired us to make Callum our lead singer to become like Damon Albarn, the lead singer of Blur.

Fast/Slow task and Britney Spears project

We took part in creating a Britney Spears remake of 'Hit me baby one more time' and this was very helpful for us by showing the production and editing of a music video. We took part in acting in the music video and we watched others take part in filming the project which allowed us to see the importance of lip syncing and making sure the actor actually sang the lyrics out loud so that when editing the lips would be in sync to the music.
We learnt the importance of time and the urgency for the completion of the video which was helpful. There was also a massive importance in a range of different camera angles and different filming methods which are so important at keeping the audience entertained and questioning the music video which is what we needed to do.

In the Fast/Slow sequences we learnt about the importance of a range of different camera angles and shots which keep the audience interested. We did this by doing long shots as well as close ups to intrigue the audience. In the editing process we learnt how to make the shots interlink to become suitable for the music with slow transitions and longer shots for the slower music and quick transitions and quick shots for the fast paced music. This proved helpful at production and editing processes.
